Hello, my name is Greg Glouse. I am 27 years old and I have lived in Easley, S.C. all of my life. I have been addicted to the sport of bass fishing for a long time. It all started when I was four years old when my dad would take me out bluegill fishing off the banks with just a cane pole, bobber, hook, sinker, and a piece of balled up bread on a hook. I can still remember the thrill I got seeing my bobber disappear and catching a good size bluegill and feeling him put up a good fight. Ever since that day I have been hooked on fishing.
As time wore on my grandpa and dad took me out in a v-hull aluminum john boat to do some river fishing for catfish and bluegill. A few years later we bought an old 1976 Chrysler tri hull bass boat with a 50hp Johnson engine and started doing some crappie fishing in lakes Hartwell and Keowee. Soon thereafter crappie fishing didn't pose much of a challenge to me anymore so while dad would sit in the front and crappie fish, I would sit in the back and bass fish. I learned that bass fishing wasn't as easy as Bill Dance made it out to be. Over the next couple years I started reading and learning all I could about bass fishing, the different techniques, and presentations that are used to catch them. Each day that we would go crappie fishing I would try something new and I would catch a couple bass each time on the new lure. The more I fished and tried different lures, presentations, and methods the more I learned how adapt to conditions and catch more bass.
Later that year I fished my very first bass tournament with dad being my partner. It was a club tournament on Lake Hartwell. I still remember not being able to sleep the night before and having butterflies all day long. We proceeded to win that tournament and big fish honors as well. Keep in mind we still had the small tri hull boat with a 50hp on it and we were limited to fish around the ramp and surrounding area. Since then I have bought a Ranger bass boat and have been fishing bass tournaments on a regular basis, on average about 5 tournaments per month, and I absolutely love every second of it.
